3 ½ years

What you need:

Secondary school leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss)

What you get:

Besides receiving theoretical training at a vocational training college, you will gradually be introduced to the skills and knowledge of a skilled toolmaker and prepared for your final examination. Apprenticeship overview:

1st year: 

  • Basic metalwork training

2nd year:

  • Machine training
  • CNC programming
  • Intermediate examination

3rd year:

  • In-house training (focussing on toolmaking and mechanical processing)

4th year:

  • Advanced specialist training. Practical experience in subsequent work environment. Completion of an operational task with documentation. Technical discussion before the IHK examining board.

What you can do:

After successful completion of training, our tool shop and mechanical engineering department provide you with varied and interesting work. Furthermore, you will also have opportunities to work in CNC programming or quality assurance.
